Staying calm, even when situations become hectic and stressful
Even though we know that hectic pace doesn't make us more effective, we get affected. If we know your own triggers for hectic behavior, we can prevent it. If you are easily infected by others, you can calm down again by the image of being a rock in the surf and gain clear stability. The LichtWesen® essence "solid rock in crushing water" supports calmness and clarity through an energetic way.
Stress and tension drain energy and disrupt a sufficient, harmonious flow of energy. Hustle and bustle also hurts: we make more mistakes, are uncoordinated and clumsy. We can no longer think clearly, lose track, react emotionally exaggerated. Creativity is also blocked and it is difficult to find new ways and solutions.
Stress activates our body
Stress was invented by "nature" for our survival. In dangerous situations we have unexpected powers. We can fight for survival effectively or run away at lightning speed. Thinking is switched off because we don't have time to analyze the situation.
Today there are rarely attacks on our lives by bears or snakes. Nevertheless, the fight-flight mode lives on in us. It is triggered by everyday situations that scare us. That is why today we mostly experience stress while sitting: in the office, in the car, in front of our computers, in school classes, lecture halls or in private surroundings. Our body is brought up to full speed without being able to convert this energy into motion.
Causes of restlessness, hectic pace, stress
There are two basic causes of stress:
- The situation itself triggers unrest and hectic in me
- I am infected by the environment
When the situation gets me hectic
When the situation triggers stress, something touches me: an unpleasant memory, a trauma, a sentence from the past, a fear. I feel inferior and helpless, although in fact there is no reason for it. The expression of the face or the sound of voice of my counterpart reminds me of someone who had put me down or threatened me. The feeling of being overwhelmed is triggered, same as a child, when I was given tasks that were not age-appropriate, that I could not yet cope with, but was also not allowed to say no. We were brought up to perform better than others. Just being satisfied was not enough. Some people are put under stress by pressure, others by loud noises or the feeling of not having enough time.
Suggestion 1: Recognize your individual trigger for stress
Everyone has different situations that trigger stress for them. Those who know their stress triggers can prevent: If I feel attacked by the other person and therefore fall into stress, it helps to ask whether the other person really wants to attack me or is just looking for an outlet for their own frustration - and I am just at the wrong place at the wrong time and it’s not about me. Generally the question is helpful: what is fact, what do I interpret into it?
If you are stressed by loud noises, you can make sure that it is not too loud or get earplugs for more quiet work. Music for headphones helps some people to separate themselves. If you already have a full to-do- list anyway, you can refuse additional tasks.
Suggestion 2: Recognize the disaster scenario
The mind is often the driving force behind anxiety and stress because it paints the worst that can happen. Negative thoughts become wild speculations and worst-case scenarios: we make a mistake at work and fear that we will be given notice. We had a dispute in the partnership and fear that the tense state will remain forever. We feel pain or have a symptom and we fear that it is a bad illness.
It is helpful to observe your carousel of thoughts and to see which scenarios are being painted that drive our adrenaline levels up. Studies show that negative emotions and thoughts have less impact when observed. Do not suppress how you feel right now, but focus on the emotion. Are you angry, disappointed, annoyed or angry? By becoming aware of your feelings, you are processing them at the same time, which already loosens the tension.
When we realize that the worst is almost never happening or we remember situations that were bad but then came to a good solution, our system also relaxes. It is also helpful to "rewrite" the disaster film and imagine a good ending. Because ultimately both the bad and the good ending are nothing but a thought-movie, an imagination. And just as the disaster illusion activates our escape mode, a good end relaxes.
You can use the essence "Solid rock in crushing water" to stop the disaster movie.
Suggestion 3: Breathe and hum for relaxation
Inhale and exhale deeply relaxes, especially if you consciously breathe into your stomach. It is even more effective if we focus on the exhaling. Scientific studies have shown that humming is also relaxing.
Suggestion 4: Simple relaxation-exercises in stressful situations
Relaxation exercises also help in stressful situations. For ensuring that they work well in the tension situation, we should train them beforehand. Easy to use are sequences of conscious tensioning and then conscious relaxing: clench one or both hands into a fist and pull them together as much as possible. Then let go of the muscles, open your hand and relax. Be aware of the relaxation. You can do this exercise with every muscle in the body. The neck, which is often tense, is particularly grateful for this.
When I get infected by the hustle and bustle of others
When I get infected by others, it is energetically a result of resonance. Particularly sensitive people or highly sensitive people know this. The best way to explain this is with the image of two gongs that hang side by side: If one is struck and vibrates, the non-touched gong also begins to vibrate and generates a tone (more information blog high sensitivity). It is then important to build up an inner clearance.
Suggestion 4: Build your distance
For building up your own inner distance, you should briefly withdraw from the situation: go outside, take a lap around the block, take a short break, make a coffee or tea, dance or do sports.
Suggestion 5: Work with inner images - the rock in the surf
Inner images help the body-energy system to calm down again. The picture "Rock in the surf" is particularly suitable for this. Imagine being a rock standing out in the surf and use this picture for meditation too: the waves roar, but the rock is calm and stable. You are touched, but nothing knocks you over. Stay in this picture, feel it. It can happen that you are not the rock, but "floating in the roaring waves" and are therefore unstable. Then turn your attention to the rock again, feel its solid stability; feel that it has been in the surf for millennia and can withstand it. Again and again.
The LichtWesen®energy spray "solid rock in crushing water" supports you in getting the necessary impulse to be into the stability of the rock instead of being carried away in the moving surf.
Suggestion 6: Don't feel guilty if you stay calm
Even if people want a place of rest in turbulent situations, someone who maintains an overview or helps them to calm down again, can cause others to feel inferior and make them react aggressively. Others may think that being calm means doing nothing or not seeing the seriousness of the situation. When we notice this, it often helps to give the other person feedback: "I can understand that you are restless."
In ourselves, the aggressive reaction to our calmness can trigger feelings of guilt: I don't take the situation seriously enough; I don't recognize the danger; when I am calm, I am paralyzed.
Watch this reaction and get consciously out of this misinterpretation.
Suggestion 7: Support your own energy system
Energetic blockages such as stressful sayings and experiences from the past that have been branding in your mind, unpleasant experiences but also the resonance described above disrupt a sufficient, harmonious flow of your energy (more information to energy system). As a result, the body does not have enough energy to maintain a relaxed, stable state. Disruptive patterns of thought and behavior are activated and the body-energy system feels being in a threatening situation. This can be compensated by energetic products such as the LichtWesen® essence "solid rock in crushing water". The essence gives the energy impulse that we need so that the body-energy system comes back into a stable state - or stays calm. It is also easier not to be infected by the feelings of others.
Suggestion 8 : Reduce stress again
Originally, physical stress reactions were there to prepare us for flight or fight. So, after a stressful day at work or an argument, if you take a walk, dance in the living room or go to the gym, you are really doing something good for you and can consciously reduce the stress level again.
